There are times, gentle reader, when all I want is to find a small island for myself, purchase similar islands–within visiting distance, of course–for friends and the like, move to the island in question, and just be.
Tonight is one of those times. My cup overfloweth, to be sure, but my plate is also heavy, so heavy!
“Calm alertness,” exhorts my old boss.
“Well, kiddo!” my violin teacher would say after reminding me to follow my intuition. “Be well.” I really should visit her soon.
“Now all you have to do is find someone to love,” wrote my guidance counselor from years past.
“Never forget the good Lord,” my mum reminds me from time to time.
Voices all around, most of them probably correct, but it’s still hard, you know? And I just want to play Jonah to this gargantuan week and nap. Good night, dear reader, and would that we talk in more relaxing times.
