As luck would not have it, gentle reader, the past few days have tested my patience to no end. I returned to Chicago on Wednesday and booked it to my roomy studio on Main Street. Right about here is where all the good news ends.

There was a little cleaning to be done, which was expected and accomplished quickly, but then some blinds decided to fall onto my head (twice), the power insisted on sputtering out FOUR times, and more than half of my windows refused–and still refuse–to open. After descending into the dank, dark basement to reset my circuit breakers for a FOURTH time, I think I snapped. I’ve caught myself muttering to myself a few times, and the English language simply does not allow for such a thing to be articulated easily. Is your beloved CEO close to retiring? Or is my mental state actually improving?
