A few days ago, gentle reader, I wished for a pet sparrow. Suffice to say that this wish came partly true today when a flock of us–alumni Lisa, Chantal, and Ellen deserve special mention–dined and grazed outside of God’s gift to the culinary world.

Bold street fowl flittered back and forth as tables doffed their umbrellas to nobody in particular. The company was engaging, the food tasted exquisite as usual, the weather, excellent; the entire experience, just wholesome. The sparrows and the finches enjoyed my burrito as much as I did.

And no, I did not feed chicken to the birds. I would feel vaguely guilty for fostering intra-species cannibalism, after all.
